How to have a hassle-free start to your motorhome holiday in France

We like to encourage our clients to visit our local cathedral city of Sens. Here’s why…

Just seven kilometres from our depot, Sens is our nearest sizeable town and many clients spend a night in a hotel there to recover from their journey to France before picking up their motorhome.

Sens is much less expensive than a night in Paris, and there’s plenty to see and do there if you have an afternoon, evening and morning to occupy. It also means you have a totally hassle-free start to your motorhome pick-up day as you’ll already be at the point where we can come and collect you.

We think this is an especially good time of the year to visit this historic, riverside city with the flowers in full bloom, a bustling produce market and long sunny evenings to dine on the restaurant terraces.

Buy a whole platter of French peaches at Sens market…because you can when you’re staying in a motorhome!

Even if you don’t spend a night in Sens on the way to our depot, you could easily head there once you have picked up your motorhome. It’s particularly suitable for a first night stay as there are good shops to stock up on anything from a French SIM card to wonderful fresh provisions. The summer sales are on now too (until 8th August), so there are some real bargains to be had in the many shops.

The municipal campsite is closed during 2018 for refurbishment but parking overnight is permitted in the town centre (in the car park behind the Tourist Information Office, right in the town centre).

There is lots to see and do in Sens and it is a very short and easy drive from our depot so why not head there to shop for supplies and ease yourself into your campervan adventure.
