Free overnight halts in interesting places for campervans are now available in the UK!

Our regular clients will already be familiar with “France Passion”, the brilliant scheme where campervaners can stay free of charge at the invitation of wine makers, farmers and craftsmen all over France.

If you hire a campervan from us, membership of France Passion is included in the price of your hire so anyone travelling in our vehicles can stay free in over 3,500 unique locations throughout France for a night at a time.

We just discovered a similar programme available in the UK, called Brit Stops. We came across Brit Stops while looking for somewhere to stay on a recent journey back to France from the UK.  We had arrived near the UK port of Harwich in the evening and were due to catch the morning ferry to the Hook of Holland, so we needed somewhere to eat and park overnight.  As luck would have it, we stumbled across the Bricklayers Arms pub at Little Bentley near the port and called in to ask if we could spend the night in their car park and have supper in the pub.

After a lovely warm welcome, landlady Liz explained that they were host members of “Britstops”, where you can stay free at lots of places from pubs to Llama farms.

Many of our clients cross the channel to spend time in the UK. They often find that campervan holidays there have a different feel simply because there is less open space and very little freedom to “wild-camp” compared to France.  It’s great news, then, that a UK equivalent to France Passion is now filling the gap.

You can order the guide to be sent to you directly at home, so planning your trip in advance is easy too.

Not all of our hirers venture as far as the British Isles, but for those who do, we think Brit Stops is a good alternative to staying on regular campsites. It’s a great money saver too, as you can become a member for £27.50 (+ P&P) – about the price of one night on a UK campsite!
