Or, have you ever come across pictures of RV’s covered with a thick layer of snow and wondered, ‘What are people doing in a Motorhome in Winter?’
Hiring a Motorhome for a Skiing holiday in France is a great way to hit the slopes
Relax, here at France Motorhome Hire, we have decided to help you and I am going to find out what you need from scratch to go skiing with a Motorhome. Isn’t that a good idea? I’ve never done it before neither, so stay tuned, we’re going to research places in France where you find Campsites which are open in the wintertime, that are near to a ski resort so you will be able to take classes or, if you are a skier already, can have fun in the snow.
First question we asked: What kind of gear do I need for skiing?
What kind of gear do I need for skiing?
If you go skiing for the first time you probably don’t want to spend a lot on buying everything, what if you end up not liking it, right? No problem! Most of the ski schools have rental gear, so you will be covered with skis, boots, helmet and goggles. Why not ask your friends and family if they can lend you some gear if they have?
What you will need to bring is waterproof clothing. It is highly recommended to wear more than just one layer. You will need proper thick socks, (rental boots are not the most comfortable ones), breathable warm underwear, a warm waterproof jacket and of course, waterproof pants / trousers. Finally-gloves, guess what? Waterproof as well.
A good tip is to pack a second pair of socks in a little backpack, together with some warm tea, small snacks and sunscreen! Sunscreen? Oh yes, you will get tanned in the mountains!
