Here are a places to visit on your 2020 bucket list motorhome holiday in France
Head South – to Italy and Lake Garda
Lake Garda
We recommend to truly enjoy the country and get a feel for the culture, food, great wine and scenery, you’re better of aiming for between 600 km to 1000 km per week. But that still means you can easily trickle down to Lake Garda in Italy, swinging by Chamonix and Mont-Blanc on your way. The beautiful scenery is amazing and the best part is that you can find a great spot and just stop to admire the view and enjoy the peace of the hills.
Or you could head down to Barcelona for a Fiesta!
Ball de Gitanes at Festa Major in Sitges, Spain.
Exactly 999 km from us according to Google Maps is the vibrant city of Barcelona. On your way you can cut through Lyon, Montpellier, Perpignan and perhaps pass by the gorgeous little seaside town Collioure which you must visit – I insist, and you really won’t regret it. Last time I was there, a family was enjoying a party in the middle of one of the narrow streets – they’d got the tables and chairs out and were inviting passers-by to join in a celebratory glass of wine for grandma’s birthday.
Go West to Brest
Rouen
Take a tour of the champagne capital of the world, Reims and then pass by Joan d’Arc’s city Rouen before visiting the beautiful city of Caen or dropping by Bayeaux to see the famous tapestry marking the victory of the Battle of Hastings for the Norman Duke, William the Conqueror in 1066. Visit the spectacular Mont Saint Michelle before and getting over to the most Westerly city in France near Brest.
Find Luxury beyond Luxembourg in the North East
Spa Francorchamps F1 Circuit
Head out towards Luxembourg and on to Nürburgring, home of the famous race track. You can continue on this theme to Spa where there’s another well-known circuit as well as a fabulous thermal baths (yes, folks, this is the town that gave its name to all those well-being centres we love to visit)! You can carry on your journey up through Brussels and onto Bruges, the Vienna of the North before making your way back.
At this time of year, when you’re thinking of holidays for next season, relax, sit back with google maps and just plot your trip around Europe. It’s so easy in a Motorhome – where would you spend your 15+ days?
